School Flooring FAQs
What flooring is best for school classrooms?+
Heterogeneous vinyl plank or sheet vinyl is the most popular classroom floor choice — durable, easy to clean, available in a wide range of colours, and cost-effective for large areas. Carpet tiles are sometimes used in breakout spaces for acoustic performance.
Can you work in schools during term time?+
Yes, when required. We prefer school holiday periods for minimal disruption, but can work in phases around occupied areas during term where required by the project programme.
Are you approved for School Infrastructure NSW work?+
Yes. DFO Flooring has completed multiple projects under the School Infrastructure NSW programme and understands the procurement and compliance requirements.
What slip ratings do school floors need?+
External areas, wet areas, and any surface likely to be wet in use requires a minimum R10 slip rating in NSW schools. We only install compliant products in school environments.
