Aged Care Flooring FAQs
What flooring is best for aged care facilities?+
Slip-resistant vinyl sheet is the primary choice for aged care — it provides a seamless, hygienic surface with appropriate slip ratings for elderly residents. Carpet is used in bedroom and lounge areas for comfort and acoustics. Safety vinyl with high R-ratings is essential in wet areas.
Can you work in a live aged care facility?+
Yes. We have extensive experience working in occupied aged care environments — including memory care units and residential wings — minimising disruption to residents while maintaining full infection control compliance.
What slip rating is required for aged care?+
Australian standards recommend a minimum R10 slip rating for dry areas and R11–R12 for wet areas in aged care facilities. We only install products that meet or exceed these requirements.
Do you install flooring in memory care units?+
Yes. We understand the specific requirements of memory care environments — including the use of consistent colours and patterns that reduce disorientation, and materials that support wayfinding.
